Gozitan boy wins poetry competition
Daniel Borg from Victoria, Gozo is the winner of the national poetry competition for children. Organised by the Maltese Poets Association (Ghaqda Poeti Maltin) this competition encourages children to write poetry so that this art will flourish.
Alfred Massa, the Association president, stressed the importance of poetry in today’s world and encouraged parents to give an example to their young ones by reading poetry themselves, no matter the language used.
Finally Mr Massa told those present to consult regularly the Ghaqda’s website http://www.ghpm.netfirms.com for further information.
The results were as follows: 1. Refugjat by Daniel Borg (Victoria, Gozo); 2. Lil Ommi by Franklyn Baldacchino (Marsaxlokk); 3. St Paul’s Poem by Laury Sam Cauchi (St Paul’s Bay); 4.
