Food is present in all feasts these days and Pippa Mattei’s latest book proves it.
To be launched tomorrow, Pippa’s Festa, Ms Mattei’s second cook book, provides recipes to prepare for all the feasts throughout the year, very much according to her taste and interest. All major celebrations and feasts, such as Christmas, New Year, St Valentine’s and Easter, are covered. But there are also recipes for such traditional local festive fare as the Lenten Kwareżimal, the carnival Prinjolata and St Joseph’s Żeppoli.
The food ranges from hearty soups for winter to refreshing, cool lemonade for summer barbeques and also recipes to prepare with the children for Halloween and family favourites to bake for tea time.
Ms Mattei’s first cook book was entitled 25 Years In A Maltese Kitchen.
